Self Compacting Concrete
In addition to all Screed Products, Heat & Screed are also experts in the installation of Self Compacting Concrete products.
Self Compacting Concrete eliminates the need for Power Floating and is less labour intensive, meaning it is considerably faster to install than Traditional Concrete products. There is also reduced noise from site as no vibration is required and no power floats are running late into the evening. Self Compacting Concrete products leave a smooth surface finish, which is suitable for floor finishes of all types. Self Compacting Concrete can be quickly installed over insulation, or over specialist Beam & Block flooring systems for example Hanson Jetfloor. We can also install Self Compacting Concrete over our UFH, using fixing systems designed specifically for concrete slabs.
Self Compacting Concrete products are also suitable to be used as a Ground Bearing slab over prepared hardcore, and can have steel and plastic fibres installed to reduce cracking caused by plastic shrinkage. We can also use Mesh in Self Compacting Concrete. A major advantage to using Self Compacting Concrete as a slab is the accuracy that can be achieved when poured by a competent installer. The high accuracy can eliminate the use of additional screed, which can happen when a traditional concrete slab is laid out of level.
Another excellent use of Self Compacting Concrete is with Composite Metal Decking, which is a new service being offered by Heat & Screed. The Self Compacting product is poured to a specified thickness rather than a level due to weight limitations on the decking, but leaves the same smooth surface finish as when installed over insulation or as a slab.

Self Compacting Concrete can be pumped using either a Line Pump or Boom Pump, if access to the area is suitable we can also pour smaller slabs direct from the mixer truck.

We work to all required standards when using Self Compacting Concrete such as NHBC Technical Guidance. We can use various performance enhancing admixtures and can have a mix designed to suit project requirements.
